Hello Everyone,
We’ve had a few requests for hikes in the Lake Tahoe area, so I’m planning a hike for Saturday, July 28th to Middle Velma Lake.
This trail goes from Emerald Bay to Eagle Lake to Middle Velma Lake and returns on the same route – a total distance of 10 miles, round trip. Those who prefer a shorter hike can stop at Eagle Lake and rejoin the group as we return to the parking lot. This will reduce the hike to 5 miles in length.
Attached is a description of the trail from the “California Hiking” guidebook. The book lists the trail as a “3” for difficulty (on a 1 to 5 scale) with 5 being the most difficult.
If you’re interested in going, please let me know if you can drive or if you need a ride. We’ll decide on a meeting place and time after we get an idea of how many are joining.
Hope to see you all on the 28th!

Wendy and I will be in Maine that day. That will be a great hike and we wish we could have joined you all.
Regards,

Sorry, I too will be out of town and not make the hike. Sounds like a great hike.
