Hi

I have pushed a RC for 0.10

The list of changes can be found here.

You can test it with Maven by inserting the following into your pom.xml

  <repositories>
    <repository>
      <id>my-repo2</id>
      <name>your custom repo</name>
    </repository>
  </repositories>
I'll update the JAVADOCs, README etc... once the vote is finished.

Here's my +1

Thanks

Julien

Hi Julien,

+1. Tried with flink-crawler, no regressions.

Does the README (and Javadocs it references) get updated once the release is blessed? Or is that part of the release process?

+1 Julien.
Pulled code, verified all tests and ran the expanded Sitemap parsing logic in a sample application for some of our websites.
All good.

Hi,

one point: the CHANGES.txt tagged with crawler-commons-1.0
and contained in the source package should mention the 1.0 release
instead of "Current Development 0.11-SNAPSHOT".

+1 otherwise

Tested the jar without regressions
- sitemaps test set
- successfully run Nutch tests with upgraded dependency

Thanks, Julien!

Sebastian

Hi Julien,

I pulled, switched to the crawler-commons-1.0 tag, and then ran “mvn clean package”.

I got a test failure in AbstractSiteMapTest.testDateParsing(). It’s these lines:

        // For formats where there's no time zone information, the time zone is
        // undefined, so we can only check on the year/month/day portion of the
        // result.
        assertEquals("20140101", isoFormatNoTimezone.format(AbstractSiteMap.convertToDate("2014")));
        assertEquals("20140601", isoFormatNoTimezone.format(AbstractSiteMap.convertToDate("2014-06")));
        assertEquals("20140603", isoFormatNoTimezone.format(AbstractSiteMap.convertToDate("2014-06-03")));

The problem is that the formatted date is coming back as one day earlier (e.g. “20131231” or “20140531”).

I’m guessing I never tried building crawler-commons early enough to trigger this issue with the lack of a time zone causing a date shift.

Has anyone else seen this?

Hi Ken,

Followed the same steps but not getting the exception. Wondering what the cause could be. time zone? what do you get with

        TimeZone tz = TimeZone.getDefault();
        System.out.println(tz.toString());

Thanks

Hi Ken,

I can reproduce it when adding "-Duser.timezone=IET" to the surefire plugin arguments:

<plugin>
<groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-surefire-plugin</artifactId>
...
<configuration>
...
<argLine>-Xmx512m -Duser.timezone=IET</argLine>

I've introduced this with #217. Before short dates have been parsed by the
javax.xml.bind.DatatypeConverter, obviously using the local time zone, now
they're assumed to be UTC. Unfortunately, the W3C standard [1] referenced in the sitemaps.org does
not mention anything about the time zone if none is given.

Will look closer on the issue tomorrow.

Thanks,
Sebastian

Hi

I've generated a new RC to address the issue with the CHANGES file and the bug found by Ken.

The list of changes can be found here.

You can test it with Maven by inserting the following into your pom.xml

  <repositories>
    <repository>
      <id>my-repo2</id>
      <name>your custom repo</name>
    </repository>
  </repositories>
I'll update the JAVADOCs, README etc... once the vote is finished.

Here's my +1

Hi,

+1

Same as for rc#1: tested the jar without any regressions.

CHANGES.txt looks good.

Thanks, Julien!
