This is a reminder that our next Clarion Drug Free Coalition meeting will be on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM. This meeting will be held in a hybrid model. The in-person meeting will take place at the Clarion County YMCA (499 Mayfield Road, Clarion) and anyone who would like to join online may do so by using the link below.

If you plan to attend in person, please RSVP to jdo...@aicdac.org.

Attached to this email you will find the meeting agenda, January’s meeting minutes, and flyers for upcoming events and trainings being held by AICDAC. I have also attached the invite to be a vendor at our Prevention Connection Day event on Wednesday, March 12.

Recovery Simulation

You will also find attached to this email the upcoming Recovery Simulation being hosted by AICDAC on PennWest Clarion campus. This event is open to the public. To sign up to participate please use the link on the flyer. If you would like to volunteer to help with simulation – please click HERE.

Gambling Awareness Training

AICDAC is a co-sponsor to host a Gambling Awareness Training on March 27th that is open to anyone.  There will be two virtual sessions to choose from, 10:00 -11:00AM  or 1:00 - 2:00PM.  Both sessions will be the same presentation.  Presenters will be Dan Trolaro and Josh Ercole discussing the impact of sports betting on mental, emotional, relational, and financial health, as well as resources and support services for individuals struggling with gambling related behaviors.  I’ve attended many trainings instructed by these two gentlemen and their sessions are always very informative.

Pre-registration is required by using this link, Training Hub · PAPrevention

Recovery Support Service Workforce Development and Recovery Friendly Workplaces

Finally, the Recovery HUB is conducting surveys and asking for input to identify how we can be supportive in the initiatives of Recovery Support Service Workforce Development and Recovery Friendly Workplaces. There are three surveys listed on the flyer please choose the survey that best suits your position.

  • Recovery Support Service Workforce Survey:
    • This survey is intended for individuals providing recovery support services(CRSs, CRFSs, Recovery Coaches, Techs/Aides, etc) to complete. It is evident that many individuals are receiving training in this sector, and we want to know what’s happened with them after being trained. Have they completed certification and if not, why? Have they become employed in the field and if not, why?

  • Recovery Support Service Provider Survey:
    • This survey is for organizations that provide recovery support services either in paid or volunteer positions. Are there open positions? Are positions difficult to fill and if so, why? We want to know from an organization perspective where any gaps are to getting good candidates in positions.

  • Recovery Friendly Workplace Survey:
    • This survey is for CMs, CRSs, Counselors, and other affiliates. The HUB is planning to build a database of businesses, agencies and organizations that hire individuals in recovery. Where are our folks getting jobs? It could be a restaurant, factory, retail, contractor, Tx provider, SCA – ANY SECTOR.

The link for our February meeting is at the bottom of this email. Please feel free to share with others would be interested in joining. We are always looking for new members and youth to join!
