Hi everyone ~
First, to get you in the holiday mood for a promotional email, please watch this two-minute video of some recent work: Wind-up Toys
Ok, now I have a few things I’d like to share with you all.
I’d like to invite you to an opening reception for Aeolian Day: Celebrate the Sound of the Wind ~ in the Window Galley, Center for New Music in the heart of San Francisco’s lovely Tenderloin district. Thursday, December 16, 2021, 6:00pm. Masked and vaxxed. Check HERE for more details. I have my Sonic Windmill in the show, very visible from the street, that street being 55 Taylor Street, San Francisco. Unfortunately we’re not expecting much wind inside the gallery to activate the windmill, but there may be some surprises. You never know.
Bodil and I sing with the Benicia Chapter of the Golden Gate Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. We have been rehearsing Handel’s Messiah. We’re performing a sing-along version of it at Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, Monday, December 13, 2021, 7:30pm. Tickets are HERE, masked and vaxxed only.
We’re also doing smaller, free, outdoor versions of it:
Saturday, December 11th, Benicia, 12:00 noon, at the Avant Community Garden, 400 1st Street, Benicia. There is a Christmas Parade starting at 10am and Holiday Market there, until 3pm.
Sunday, December 12th, San Francisco, 2:00pm at Vesuvio Cafe, 255 Columbus Ave, SF. We will perform in the Jack Kerouac Alley, next to the cafe.
Sunday, December 19th, San Francisco, 3:00pm, in the street next to The Homestead, 2301 Folsom Street, San Francisco.
I also want to share a painting with you that I finished earlier this year ~ Timeline. It’s sort of dark, political, and 17 feet long ~ so I’m still looking for a venue to show it in real life. Let me know if you have any ideas about that.
You may remember that Bodil and I had to postpone our show of collaboratively made interactive sound sculpture when the pandemic hit last year ~ but we are looking forward to seeing our show Probability open at Pro Arts Gallery in Oakland March, 2022. HERE is a small part of the work ~ very much in progress.
Of course ~ everything is tentative depending on Omicron. (Play scary music here).
Finally ~ HERE is our new doorbell.
And, darn it, have a wonderful holiday in spite of everything!
Warmly,
Larnie
