UCNJ Finalist for Aspen Prize 🏆

Union College of Union County is one of ten finalists hoping to take home the Aspen Prize this month. When you consider there are over 1,000 community colleges in the US, being a finalist is quite an honor. This week I chat with Dr. Bernard Polnariev, the Vice President for Administrative Services at UCNJ.

Meet the Master Gardener - Saturday, April 5 👩‍🌾🌿

The Cranford Historical Society will have a presentation by Caren White on planning and planting your garden with a focus on herbs. The society’s Crane-Phillips House is reopening for tours. The next open dates are April 6, May 4 and May 18.


Cranford Jaycees Pancake Breakfast - Sunday, April 6 🥞

This breakfast at the Cranford VFW post is more than just hotcakes. There are also eggs, sausage/bacon, coffee and juice. Fun activities for the kids are planned. Proceeds benefit Cranford Family Care.


Pass It Over - Sunday, April 6 🥫✡️

Drop off a canned or boxed food at Eastman Plaza and be entered to win a gift certificate from Perrotti’s. Members from Temple Beth El Mekor Chayim will be on hand to answer questions about Passover.


Dreyer Farm Planting Tips - Wednesday, April 9 🌽

The College Women’s Club of Cranford is hosting Jessica Dreyer who will not only provide planting tips, but will also talk about the farm’s history.


The [M] Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause - Thursday, April 10 ♀️

A special screening of this film, followed by a live Q&A, will take place at the Cranford Theater.


Three Giant Telescopes: ELT, GMT, TMT - Friday, April 11

These are no backyard telescopes. All three are either under construction or proposed. Find out what they might do.


Cranford Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt - Saturday, April 12 - 🐰

Kids from 0 to 12 are invited to find the eggs around the Orange Avenue School fields. The Easter Bunny will be making an appearance, as well.


Community of Cranford Good Friday Service - Friday, April 18 ✝️

The Cranford Clergy Council is sponsoring a community Good Friday service at noon at First Presbyterian.


Blood Drive - Friday, April 18 🩸

A blood drive takes place at Calvary Tabernacle between noon and 5.


USA 250th Anniversary Awareness Walk - Saturday, April 19 - 🇺🇲

A variety of events will take place at Nomahegan Park to mark the start of Union County’s celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary. 


Cranford Rotary Club’s 35th Annual Golf Tournament - Monday, April 21 🚩

Church Women United Annual Spring Assembly - Saturday, April 26 🏡

Cranford Community Center plays host to this event. This year’s theme is fair and accessible housing.

The return of Hanson Park storytime and unicorn storytime are two highlights of the week ahead. The CPL will be closed Friday and Saturday due to construction.
