Maybe it's just a coincidence, but two days after I reported that News-Press city editor Scott Steepleton has been sitting on a story about Congressional candidate Tom Watson, asking Lois Capps for earmarked funding on behalf of the company he works for, it looks like the News-Press will finally be publishing an article on it.

Appearing on Wednesday's "Tomorrow's News Today" crawl across the top of the newspress.com website is a link to a teaser on an article titled Capps challenger raises conflict of interest claims.

Will be interesting to see if Watson comes off looking any better in this article than he did in the one in the Independent. Then again, it would be hard for him to come off looking any worse.
