[Craig Smith's Blog] More Disappointment for Fired News-Press Journalists

It continues to be a bumpy road for the journalists whom an administrative law judge ruled were illegally fired by Wendy McCaw's News-Press.

Today (Thursday) the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals denied a rehearing and will not reconsider an earlier ruling a three-judge panel of that court had made deciding that the fired employees were not entitled to immediate reinstatement.

That means the journalists will have to await a ruling from the NLRB in Washington D.C. who is considering McCaw's appeal of the administrative law judge's decision which was made at the end of 2007.
