A Republican Congressional candidate in Oregon has withdrawn from a debate after learning that former Independent and Santa Barbara News-Press reporter Jerry Cornfield, now a political columnist for the Daily Herald in Oregon, was one of three journalists who was going to be asking questions. The debate had been scheduled to air Thursday night.

Although he's working in a different venue it sounds like Jerry still has a reputation for not being soft on the people that he interviews.
