Hello,

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for registering on our website, update you on what is next, and ask you to kindly support me in this next phase.

DEMONSTRATE YOUR SUPPORT

On Tuesday 18 January 2022, the planning appeal will start and asks for members of the public to participate in the process. We need to ensure the case officer who will decide on the future of the Flying Pig and the wider scheme knows how much support there is for what we are trying to deliver.

We hope to overturn the decision made by Cambridge City Council Planning Committee Councillors and therefore preserve and improve the Flying Pig and deliver a new workplace campus in the heart of Cambridge, at 104 -112 Hills Road, just 400m from the Railway Station.

We ask anyone who wants to see the Flying Pub saved and this new sustainable workplace campus delivered to support us by responding to this email to let us know you would like to say a few words at the appeal in January.

EMAIL TO SUPPORT NOW

Alternatively, if you do not feel comfortable speaking in public, please do still get in touch to discuss other ways you can demonstrate your support.

WHAT WE WILL DELIVER

If our appeal is successful, we would create the first fossil-fuel free, all-electric buildings, with zero combustion on-site in Cambridge, attaining the highest level of sustainability possible certified to achieve BREEAM 2018 “Outstanding” (less than 1% of new buildings globally achieve this), whilst being designed and constructed to meet the requirements of a WELL Platinum rating, the highest level of certification for wellbeing.

The scheme will deliver several economic benefits including the creation of 400 construction jobs onsite and once built over 1,800 new local jobs by providing incubator space, office space and café/restaurant/pub outlets.

Importantly our scheme preserves and improves the popular pub and live music venue, the Flying Pig (pictured below) that will sit in the heart of the new public realm, in the centre of the campus, and maintain its contribution to the local conservation area.

If this is something you would like to hear more about, please email in...@savetheflyingpig.com letting us know the best telephone number to reach you on and my colleagues will be in touch.

Thank you for all your support to date!

Warm regards,

Johnny

Is this the scam campaign being run by the developers in order to get support for their bigger development?

(Someone else on this mailing list will know)

yes, it is.  The Flying Pig (as everyone knew it) is now dead and gone - the landlords have been removed, and the place is derelict.  Sad. This "campaign" is merely the developers trying to get more out of the council than they originally applied for.
