Greetings Hashers and Harriettes!
**River Run 2025 will be held on Monday 22nd September!**
River Run is an annual event organised by the Cantabrigensis Hash House Harriers. This year it starts from the Green Man in Grantchester and finishes at the Castle Inn in Cambridge. Up to 20 eager runners will run between these two pubs, visiting 8 other pubs in between and enjoying a refreshing half pint of beer in each pub. Whoever gets to the last pub first and successfully drinks their final beer, wins!
The choice of route between the 10 pubs is entirely your own, as is your choice to wear fancy dress or not, and each runner will have the company of a buddy to help avoid getting lost or distracted from their quest or falling into the river. Buddies will also make sure runners do not produce unacceptable forms of leakage. Sweating or crying (with laughter) is acceptable, peeing and/or puking are not and will result in disqualification. Marshalls will be allocated to each pub to make sure all runners enjoy their beers, and someone will be transporting bags from the start to the finish.
Entry is £30 per runner. Everyone else, feel free to send additional monies into the charity. This year we’ll be supporting the Phoenix Trust at Milton. https://www.phoenixtrust.org/
The Phoenix Trust (Milton) Ltd, which we abbreviate to just Phoenix, is a vibrant charity, founded in 2006 and situated on the outskirts of Cambridge, in Milton. We make a range of paving and garden accessories on site from both wood and concrete. Although we are small, we pride ourselves on making a big difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities or complex needs, through the provision of a meaningful experience of work and the development of social and life skills.
SO!
If you would like to be a runner, a buddy or a marshal, please don't hesitate to sign up! Simply email me with what you'd like to do. We need more people for everything.
Yours,
GM
P.S. Could someone forward this email onto the Sunday Hashers and the Third Thursday Hashers, pretty please.
