I totally agree, our CR-48's along with being prone to developing arthritis of the hinge...
They had, (2/3 of ours still do) a personalities that the newer ones do not.
I know they are just inanimate objects and that I am just projecting as I wax nostalgic.

Lets take a quick second to Look where the CR-48 was in 2010 compared to where my ACER CB5-311 (last years mid level CB)
We all know the CR-48 specs (The little engine that could, and did!) My ACER CB5-311 (4GB/32GB) - Dual Band 802.11AC +BT, & 2 USB 3.0 + HDMI OUT (Purchased 10/2014)
Will mine make it to 2019? maybe? if I do not drop it.

Seems like the magic Memory number for any ChromeBook (excluding the CR-48) is a minimum of 4GB's Ram,
My thoughts are that Standards on the next wave of Newer model CB''s,
They will have leaner/faster fanless processors, IPS FHD Screens, Backlit Keyboards and USB-C support.
