CPU President meets Alumni in South Texas

The warmth of Central Philippine University (CPU) reached the heart of Texas as CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy visited Centralians in the Lone Star State. Headed by Rufino “Pinoy” Gonzales, President of the Central Philippine University Alumni Association of South Texas USA, and CCINAA President Helga Moscoso Sanchez, the Centralian alumni warmly welcomed Dr. Dagohoy, who returned to the U.S. to spend the holidays with his family.

The Centralians at north Texas with CPU President Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy.
CPU President Ernest Dagohoy and his wife, Cecile Gonzales Dagohoy, graced the Central Philippine University North Texas Alumni, Family, and Friends Chapter on January 8, 2024. The chapter, initially informally gathering since 1972, received charters from CPUANAA and then CPUFOAA in 2000, with Dr. Juanito Acanto installing the charter set of officers including Pastor Val Gonzales, Rey Miranda, Pompom Parcon, Lou Losanes, Tabob Regalado Perez, Judy Nava Mallillin, Flora Buenafe McManus, Lydia Sornito Penacerrada, Emelda “Daday” Frange Valcarcel, and the late Luz Silva Cervantes. Dr. Ernest Dagohoy is the second CPU President to visit this esteemed chapter.
Central Philippine University student named among Top 10 Jose Rizal Model Students

Ms. Angeles was named as one of the Top 10 Jose Rizal Model Students.
Central Philippine University (CPU) is delighted to announce that one of its students has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Jose Rizal Model Students in the country. Ms. Jennifer Erika Angeles, a 4th year BS Social Work student, was awarded this honor during the 34th Annual Search for the Ten Outstanding Jose Rizal Model Students of the Philippines, Collegiate Level by the Knights of Rizal (KOR) chartered under R.A. No. 646 on December 30, 2023.
Six CPU Girl Scouts join Youths for Inclusion Program in Singapore

The six Centralian Girls Scouts who joined the Inclusion Program in Singapore.
On December 21-24, 2023 Six Girl Scout Youths joined the “Youths for Inclusion Starts with You and I”program in Singapore. The program which was initiated by Young Adults from Girl Guide Singapore, aims to foster diversity and inclusivity, particularly focusing on people with disabilities and cultural harmony.

Empowering Education: CPU Project ETC distributes supplies to Zaragosa and Tapikan Elementary Schools

A total of 403 students from Zaragosa Elementary School and Tapikan Elementary School received school supplies, school uniforms, PE uniforms, feeding supplies, and umbrellas.
In a heartwarming display of community support and dedication to education, Project ETC, in partnership with Central Philippine University, organized a distribution event on December 11, 2023, at Zaragosa Elementary School in Balasan, Iloilo, and on December 12, 2023, at Tapikan Elementary School in San Joaquin, Iloilo.
God’s Grace Program: Meal Subsidy Recipients during the First Semester of A.Y 2023-2024

Students in their student life at CPU are the main benefactors of the ministry. CPU Church and CPU alumni from all over the world, especially those who had been work students in their student life at CPU.
The ministry was started during the time of Vice President Walden Rio in 2005 and Rev. Melvin Mangana, the University Church Senior Pastor. Rev. Mangana learned that there were many work students who went to their work and then their classes without breakfast. Some just fainted during their class hours.

A Prayer Breakfast for God’s Grace Program Recipients

Education is a powerful tool that opens doors to opportunities and transforms lives. However, for many working students, pursuing higher education while juggling employment responsibilities can be a daunting challenge.
