Investiture rites held for the 18th President of CPU

Dr. Raul F. Muyong, Director IV, Commission on Higher Education, administers the Oath of Office to the new CPU President Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy.

Dr. Ernest Howard Buenaventura Dagohoy was formally installed as the 18th President of Central Philippine University, in an investiture ceremony held on Friday November 24, 2023 at 4:00PM at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.

The investiture drew together members of the Board of Trustees, the CPU Corporation, the Deans and Department Heads; Faculty and Staff, as well as other community representative and organizations with ties and linkages to the University. The presence of Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas and other dignitaries; representatives of other Universities, particularly The University of Antique made it a momentous event. The family of Dr. Dagohoy, his relatives and friends who came from far and near were present at the Investiture.

Centralians commemorate Investiture with symbolic Tree Planting Ceremony

CPU President Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy and CPUAAI President Atty. Jeremy Bionat are getting ready to plant the Bitaog-Dancalan tree.

On November 30, 2023, at 9:00 AM, the Central Philippine University community gathered behind the University Church for a meaningful tree planting activity to celebrate the investiture of its 18th president on the institution’s 118th year.

On November 24, 2023, Central Philippine University graciously welcomed a Caravan of Antique Centralians from Antique province who came to show their support for the investiture of Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, the 18th President of CPU.

CPU-DA reopen Agrifair and Exhibits 2023

The exhibitors of the Agrifair at CPU with the organizers from the Department of Agriculture and CPU.

The CPU-DA Organic Production Technology Training Cum Agrifair and Exhibits 2023 held at Central Philippine University from November 28 to 30 brought farmers and entrepreneurs from the province and city of Iloilo to participate in the trade fair. The joint effort of the Department of Agriculture Region 6 and CPU provided farmers and entrepreneurs an alternative to gain new knowledge in agricultural technology, and an opportunity to market products from their own local enterprises.

Embracing Literacy: Transformative Instrument in Fostering a Learning Culture

Prof. Kerwin Luntao, DLMCH Outreach Coordinator, and Prof. Sarex Dipol, CPU Outreach Program and Service Learning OIC-Director, spearheaded a book donation drive and an instructional material literacy outreach program in Barangay Nazuni, Dingle, on November 24th. The aim was to promote literacy and provide educational resources to students at Nazuni Elementary School and Nazuni Summit Comprehensive National High School.

Acclaimed International Filipino artist is a Centralian

Centralian Artist Lucell Larawan.

Lucell Larawan, painter, writer, teacher, and acclaimed International Filipino artist, is a former CPU Faculty. He left a number of his artworks inside some CPU offices. Larawan has received prestigious recognition for his work. He secured two finalist awards at the International Artist Grand Prize Championship (Art Revolution Taipei) in Taiwan and earned semi-finalist accolades at the national Metrobank Art and Design Excellence recently.
