Central Philippine University and the CPU Alumni Association officially switched on the Christmas lights on Friday, December 1 at 6:00 PM at the Centennial Walkway. The grand display of lights in the campus is one of the best in Iloilo City. The brilliant lights form a profusion of Christmas symbols like the stars and Christmas trees. This has become an annual public interest to watch during the first week of December until the first week of January. After a period of pandemic, this year’s Festival of Lights at CPU is again open to the public.

Central Philippine University Guidance Services Center in partnership with Community Engagement and Services Learning Center held a Gift-giving activity at the Alumni Promenade and Concert Park on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 8:00 in the morning to 12:00 noon, with the theme “Give Love on Christmas Day.”

CPU has a new VP for Administration

The Dean of the College of Engineering Engr. Dany C. Molina is now the Vice President for Administration of Central Philippine University. Molina’s position is vital to the administrative affairs of the University, under the leadership of President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy. Planning, organizing and coordinating with the administration are top responsibilities of the VPA.

CPU College of Agriculture, Research and Environmental Sciences (CARES) Dean Dr. Jaime Cabarles presented the advance equipment and facilities for its successful research and production of Philippine Native Chicken. “The productive agricultural research has been a result of dedicated study and involves not only scientific objectives, but realistically, production and market competency, which must be supported by new technologies.” This was explained by Dean Cabarles during the recently concluded DA-CPU Agrifair.

United Board approves Waterwise Project Grant for CPU

The Board of Trustees of the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia has approved the Faculty Development Grant on Integrated Scholarship Addressing Sustainable Development Goals for Central Philippine University (CPU). This is for the initiative that was proposed by CPU in response to the call for proposals of the United Board.

Gathered under the banner of academic curiosity and shared aspirations, Central Philippine University College of Engineering conducted a Special Convocation with the theme “If I Were An Engineering Student Again” last November 20, 2023, at the Educational Media Center. The event was organized by the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EE/ECE) Departments, and hosted by Mr. Fredric Mitch Biso, a third year ECE student. It was an insightful convocation where the speakers shared their own educational journey, the lessons learned, and the advices they would offer to the new generation of engineering students.

"Bringing the Light" Cultural Show shines bright at Rose Memorial Auditorium

A dazzling display of culture and creativity unfolded at the Rose Memorial Auditorium as CPU Cultural Affairs Office hosted its annual cultural show, aptly titled “Bringing the Light.” The event, which commenced at 4 PM, featured a captivating blend of music, dance, art, and heartwarming narratives that left the audience inspired and uplifted.
