The CPU now has chapters in three states but our goal is to have one
in every state by the end of 2009
Lets each come up with a idea of how to help make this happen

I have several ideas.
1) Recruit local ASA Ambassadors in each State
2) Advertise in High Times Magazine or other publication (wordwide)
3) Recruit local NORML chapters
4) Recruit Medical Marijuana Groups such as k4mm.org
5) Press Releases to the Associated Press
5) Recruiting Contest (Most Recruits = Prize & Most New Chapters = Prize)

I wonder if you could get on Leno or some other latenight talkshow. That
would boost attention quick. I'm not sure how hard it is because we don't
have that capacity here in Maine, but I'd say there is a better chance of
getting on National TV in California than anywhere else. Local Access
Station possibly could get a fast following.

I like most of all the idea of a contest
We would need to decide on prizes (the Humboldt chapter has access to free
glass but shipping over state lines is always a bad idea)

We could do something like the state of the week and the first and the first
member to recruit a chapter leader in that state wins the prize

We could have other contest like most members recruited and for largest
chapter
But it all comes back to prizes we could do something with gift memberships
like if you win you get one membership id number to give out to a friend and
that number is a life time no dues ever

I think one important thing is for this organization to motivate its presence.

What does the CPU offer that other cannabis orgs do not?

For instance, when a local Ohio lady was arrested for growing 30 plants, ASA and North Ohio NORML came to her aid.

She was growing for medical reasons.

I suppose the CPU covers the religious and recreational uses.

Personally, I dont like the term 'recreational use'

In fact, it would seem almost blasphemy to the religious users to be in the same org with people who use it for recreation.

To start we use the wording personal use not recreational and as blasphemy I use cannabis for all three medical personal and spiritually as I do with prayer what is sacred should be enjoyed now if your or someone’s faith calls for cannabis use only during religious times I understand and respect there devotion but do not see how it would be blasphemy for them to be joined with others in the fight to legalize cannabis for all.

Now on to what is different about us from others cannabis groups.

1) the CPU is like the GLUE of cannabis groups all chapters of the CPU are required to start or link with local ASA chapters and NORML chapters and any other groups that can help the cause

2)as you said ASA wont touch your case unless your medical and a good case at that and NORML wont touch you case unless they can get publicity out of it (my opinion not the CPU opinion) the first case the CPU took and WON! Was that of a non medical homeless man that turned in cans to pay is union membership fees and it was for just less then a ounce. So what im trying to say is the CPU will fight for the little guy or the 100 plants guy and we will be there each time with a team of lawyers and protesters. And as a union member your in a union so that means you help decide how your dues are spent and what actions are taken.

3) thank about it this way what do you get out of joining other groups?

4)And when you join the union you get a member ID card and discounts on lawyers and a dedicated group of protesters + if you are ever arrested for cannabis we will contact normal and ASA and many other groups about your case

So how does this sound for a idea we offer 5 free memberships (takes 5
to start chapter) to any group in any state we do not yet have a
chapter in if the group is willing to startt a chapter ?
