I do in fact vote no, because the program is already there, which is actually a yes vote previously cast.
The program is already there, they can already get products as cheap as they can get. They can even send in designs for inclusion. All they need to do is arrange the purchase through you or I, we can both login to the system and make purchases at cost. We can ship them from the site, to wherever they need to go (local chapters) who can then sell them to raise money.
Playing around with the markup percentages just makes it more complicated than it needs to be.
I'll do whatever the Union decides is best of course, don't get me wrong. I'm here to help in any way I can.

"I propose hq sells the clothes at a 15percent mark up from purchase price including shipping charges to individual chapters . "
(This is more expensive to local chapters than at cost)

" So they can then sell it at retail price to non members and @ 20 percent discount from retail to current members. By giving a discount to current members, gives them an aura of exclusivity and brings up good moral within the members. "
(The Chapters can sell them at whatever cost they want since they bought them at cost. These are unnessessary restrictions.)

Voting Yes actually makes t-shirts MORE expensive to local chapters by 15%.
As the program is right now, chapters can purchase through HQ (Not the website) at cost. Right now, local chapters can sell the shirts they buy at whatever price they want. This proposal places unnessessary restrictions on local chapters and actually increases the up front costs assosiated with participation.

I am only writing again because I want people to be absolutely sure what it is they are voting for. Again, it not like the HQ is doubling it's money on t-shirts. HQ makes a couple of dollars per shirt. Most shirts help the Union with between $2-$5. The agreement with SpreadShirt is pretty good but it's still expensive to print individual shirts one at a time, (not in bulk). Some of these shirts have printing on the back, sleeves and more, which also increases the time and money needed to create the shirts. Cost goes up. Also the materials selected were of higher quality than normal. Heavy cottons and Organic Hemp shirts.

I understand doing what's right and spreading the word. That's why the system is designed this way. HQ makes money when we sell via website to supporters and members nationwide. The chapters have an opportunity to do the same thing and at the same prices as HQ. At cost is what it costs HQ to get a shirt, period, without markup of any kind.

Personally, I really wish there had been more discussion before throwing out a nationwide vote on any subject. People didn't have an opportunity to hear any facts about the current system at all. There was no opportunity for debate, discussion or due and proper discourse.
This is one of the reasons we have this googlegroup is to discuss these very things.
The idea itself is great. Help the chapters make more money. I agree with that.  Help HQ make more money, again, I completely agree. Both of these were taken into serious consideration when the system was created.
I hope that all members regardless of position or status will utilize the opportunities afforded them to be heard and be an active part of any and all discussions.
I also have some issues with procedure,
Any vote taken should actually have had a Motion and been Seconded BEFORE a vote could take place. I'm not trying to bash the system or anyone in particular but if we are going to vote on topics presented before the National Union we need to set some ground rules and start communicating.

What are the prices like for bulk orders?

  • A benefit of bulk ordering is your ability to save on average 25% to 35% off per piece.
  • All base products selected for a bulk orders are priced at reduced prices that fluctuate monthly depending upon product demand.
  • Printing costs for designs selected with flex, flock and digital printing methods are priced according with standard Spreadshirt printing prices.
  • Printing costs for designs selected with the screen print printing methods are priced according to local outsourced prices.
We can send them the requirements of the order and they send a custom quote.

Do I receive a discount when ordering a certain quantity?

We have a price scale built into our system. Depending on the dollar amount you order, the discount will adjust accordingly. Here is an outline of our discount system:

  • Orders above $200.00 -> discount is 5%
  • Orders above $500.00 -> discount is 7.5%
  • Orders above $750.00 -> discount is 10%

For orders of 25 or more shirts with the same design, please use our Bulk Orders.
