Hello CPSS,
Welcome back to school. Here's what this quarter will look like for us.
Our goal this quarter is to finish the rocket for the IREC competition. We've already made a lot of good progress, but there's still quite a bit more work to do.
Midweek meetings will be moved back to their regular time at 6:00 PM on Wednesdays in 192-322. There will no longer be official meetings on Thursdays. Saturday meetings will still be held in the hangar at 11, but since there'll be a fair bit of work to do this quarter, feel free to show up early. Yaroslav has requested that anyone wanting to help with propulsion show up at 10. Most propulsion tasks require a yellow tag, but there's a bit of room for red tags to help. Getting a yellow tag only requires 10 hours of shop time, one hour of cleanup, and a yellow tag tour. See
the ME shops website for more info. The rest of the rocket work should mostly be doable by red tags, but please try and get a yellow tag anyway.
This quarter we'll also be conducting some test fires and test launches. Test fire livestream links will be emailed out the day of the test (except maybe the first one). Test launches will be coordinated in meetings and over Slack.
Lastly, a few people approached me about cert rockets last quarter, but I haven't seen anyone start work on one. You're welcome to come in and start work on those by rolling the body tube any Saturday.
Thank you all for the work you put in last quarter. I'm excited to see what we can accomplish over the next ten weeks. It's all starting to come together!
