Hi CPSS,

There are some updates on Slack from the past weekend but I’ll summarize them here. You can also check out updates on cpspacesystems.com

1.       We poured the biggest fuel grain in CPSS history on Saturday. The peristaltic pump worked great.

2.       The testing rocket team spent hours finishing up the rocket so it’s ready to paint. We’re going to try a new method of painting to get a very smooth glossy finish and hopefully reduce drag.

3.       The trailer team is making great progress and has been working through a few issues with some of our older hardware. A few new parts are on the way and the trailer systems should be up and running soon.

4.       The avionics team is working on a new revision of the flight board. The first board a few layout issues that are being resolved

5.       The final tool required to machine the last part of the motor is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, so the final motor components should be machined before the weekend.

Tuesday at about 10:30, Daniel and Adam will be in the hangar to remove the grain that was cast Saturday. If you have time and are interested feel free to stop by and help.

Once the threading tool arrives for the motor, George and Adam will be machining the threads in the combustion chamber casing.

That moves us towards the goal for this weekend. We will conduct a test readiness review on Saturday. We expect to find a few lingering bugs that will need to get resolved before the test, but most systems should be up and running at that time. In addition, the test goals will all be laid out before that date.

Thanks again CPSS for all your hard work. See you at our weekly meeting on Wednesday at 6pm in 192 room 322.
