Hey all,
The launch for the cert rocket competition is this coming weekend. As we discussed Saturday, the plan is to meet in the lot behind the hangar at 6:00, and leave by 6:30. Please shoot to be there at 6, though, because if you're not there, we're leaving without you. We'll stop on the way to FAR to give folks a chance to buy a lunch for the day, but packing one isn't a bad idea either. Dinner will be up to each car to figure out on the way home, but a lot of us will probably try to stop at In N Out. Bring water, sunscreen, and a hat. It's the desert. FAR is
here, and you can see the latest forecast
here.
In order to launch rockets, though, the rockets need to be finished. I've linked below a sheet showing when folks will be in the hangar so that you can come and finish up. Thanks to some lackluster organization on my part, not all teams have permanent team leads, which means you're encouraged to organize among your teammates to find times to come in and work. Take a look at the
travel sign up sheet if you need to track someone down. All epoxy work must be finished by the end of Thursday to give adequate curing time before the launch, but should probably be done before then so you've got time for painting. Speaking of painting, CPSS has a limited selection of spray paint available, but will reimburse teams who want to go buy their own spray paint (but you'll need to keep the receipt). Painting must be done in the paint booth, but you don't need to be checked in to the shop to use it. Just grab one of us older folks to show you where the switches are, and wear safety glasses.
If you're not going on the trip, there will be no meeting this Saturday.
Hangar work times:
Best of luck to all the teams, and as always, let me know if you have any questions!
