IREC Trip

[Cal Poly Space Systems]

Hey CPSS,

 

The end of the quarter is rapidly approaching, which means so is IREC. Here is some information about the trip:

We have signed up to take 15 people to the competition

·         Seniors and those who have contributed most to the club will have priority

·         We need to finalize our list of attendees by Thursday, June 2

·         We need drivers!

We will depart SLO on June 13^th or 14^th

We will return to SLO late on June 19^th

We are camping (that means sleeping in tents) in Green river (don’t worry, there are showers!)

Gas will be reimbursed for drivers, and campsite cost will be covered, BUT food for the trip will not be reimbursed.

 

There is still a lot of work that needs to be done on the competition rocket:

 

The parachutes are still being sewn.
We still have one more test fire and need to make the motor grain for IREC.

The equipment on the trailer needs to get moved to a portable box since we aren’t allowed to bring the trailer to IREC.

Structural components of the rocket still need to be machined

 

I know it’s dead week and finals week, but we are going to need all hands on deck to get everything ready for IREC.

 

At the Wednesday meeting (6 PM in 192-322), we will discuss our plan of action for getting everything accomplished.
