After many, many years on the committee, Beman Dawes is slowing down as bit and won't be as active as he used to be. In particular, he won't be active in the Directions Group. If you use C++, you owe him big time: Boost and I think we might not have gotten the STL without Beman's support.
To replace Beman, Roger Orr will be joining the DG. As is required for DG membership, Roger has worked with C++ and in the committee for a LONG time, and has the support of the EWG chairs.
Goodby Beman, I hope we will see you at times, and welcome Roger!
