Hi All
Well done to everyone that played at the SA Canoe Polo Championships this past weekend. We had a really good weekend of polo and some really competitive matches. Big well done to our development team that were sitting 2nd on the U21 log after the round robins, but finished 4th in the end.
Mark on your calendar up coming events:
1. Saturday 12 April - Fundraising car wash. John, Jo and myself are trying out for our national teams to compete at the World Champs in September. We unfortunately have to pay all our expenses ourselves. As a fundraising event we will be doing a wet t-shirt car wash on Saturday 12 April, at the V&A Waterfront. The SUP guys are especially organising a sup event for us. Will confirm the time a little closer to the day. But please support us - bring your car for a wash, bring your friend's/parents cars for a wash, or better yet, please come help us wash cars.
2. Durban International 24 & 25 May. There will be an international polo competition between Namibia and South Africa, at Shongweni Dam in Natal. We are not sending any formal teams, however you can enter as an individual; more details at
http://www.durbaninternational.com/
3. Knsyna Festival 12 & 13 July. There is a polo tournament as part of the Knsyna festival, played at the Quay mall. Its an awesome competition, great vibe, fun polo. The marathon and half marathon will be run in the morning, polo starts Saturday midday till Sunday midday. Make sure to put it in your diary. We will be taking teams to this one

The tournament is sponsored by Obikwa wines, with great prize money and prizes up for grabs.
In other news, the Amsterdam site (where our V&A Club is located) is going to be developed into offices. Construction starts May/June. Our section of the canal will be drained. V&A are trying to accommodate us around the corner - past the Audi centre towards the convention centre. (SUP will be towards the 1& Only hotel). The draining is temporary to accommodate excavating of basement parking for the new buildings. At worst, polo will be temporarily relocated to Century City (against the traffic).
Otherwise, hope you all have a good weekend.
Sam
