Ambassador Hotel issue

Two of us walked over to the hotel to examine something and discovered that the 2nd floor of the north end of the hotel has been cordoned off, is no longer in use, and appears to be in serious disrepair.  condemned?

Does anyone have any information on this or know how we can learn it?
