CRIME ALERT - Unwanted Solicitors

Recently there have been reports of unwanted solicitors in the college park area. Please consider the following:

• Report suspicious activities.  You, the resident, know what activity is normal for your area.  Call 911 when someone is acting suspicious. 
  
• Do not challenge solicitors. Call 911, provide a description and direction of travel.
  
• Be alert to your surroundings and get to know your neighbors. 
  
• Remember to lock all doors and windows.  Set your alarms.
  
• While away from your home for vacation or other reasons forward your telephone to a family member, have a neighbor collect your mail, put the garbage curbside and retrieve any newspapers/solicitations from your property, keep lights on while away so the home looks lived in.
  
• Make sure you have serial numbers recorded for the property that you own. 
  
• Become an active neighborhood watch member.
