Just wanted to let everyone know that this weekend we had a serious incident on Ellwood Avenue that could have been much worse.

A resident came home one evening to find an unfamiliar vehicle parked in his driveway.  The resident then spied a burglar removing his personal property from his backyard.  The resident confronted the man who thankfully dropped everything and drove off.  By immediately calling 911 with the man's description and tag, the resident was able to successfully direct OPD who stopped and detained the man.  After the resident conducted a "show up" of the man and his vehicle, OPD arrested the burglar and sought a search warrant for his vehicle which appeared to contain numerous other items, probably stolen from other properties.  But before the burglar was carted off, he threatened our neighbor by telling him he knew where the resident lived.

With our overrun criminal justice system, I'm sure this guy will be back at it soon.  So, he's a bald, thin white male who drives an older model green Ford Explorer with a ladder ont he roof.  If you see that combination, call the police.

Be vigilant!

Can we get more on this guy? Better description, age, glasses/beard, height?

I take it the victim resident does now have a CWP or at least was carrying at the time. Too bad for the bad guy as there should be one less bad DNA on the streets.

Sorry for the misspell - Apple has a mind of its own sometimes and I have to be careful to re-read even the most predictable of words for random substitutions.

What I was saying was apparently the victim did NOT have a CWP or was not carrying it at the time of the incident. Lucky for the bad guy.
