Hi everyone, 

Yep - It's name and shame time. And it's almost 1am, so if this sounds crazy - it's because I'm pissed off that I have to even do this. 

The following people have not signed up to do ANY jobs at all on any of our rosters, they haven't even tried to randomly attach their name to the sheet when it ran out of space like so many of you did!

Maybe all of you can't read? (get a reading-eye dog or something)
Maybe your friend signed you onto the list and you haven't actually bothered to involve yourself at all YET (I stress, YET. This is the worst kind of crime). 
Maybe all of you tried to do the right thing but got confused by the google-machine? (it's not hard, ask the nearest 10 yr old!)
I love some of you very dearly and the rest of you I can't wait to meet and love as well... but NONE of these are reasons or excuses we will accept. 

We're all in this together and the only way for ALL of us to create something wonderful is if we ALL pitch in!
Or, your money back. Seriously. 

So - here's the deal. 
I've added more places to roster to add your name! Yay! Remember to check the kitchen roster, we still need dish-washers!
AND if that fills up too - please just write your name on the right hand side of the bar roster where the other names are and we will allocate you a job. 

It doesn't take much to help out, in fact some people are OVER-COMMITTED!
Can EVERYONE please make sure that they sign up to shifts that they are actually going to be able do! 
You CAN'T cook dinner and run the bar on the same night. 
You CAN'T pick up MOOP when you're cleaning the kitchen at the same time.
Physics says no. 
So, if you we're an eager-beaver, scale it back to a manageable and scientifically possible level. Because let's face it, you'll be at a festival and as much as you want to do it now, it might be a much bigger struggle at the time. 

Also, to the additional/emergency bar crew - I'm sorry but I deleted all your witty rearguard banter and have allocated you shifts as barbacks/support. 
No more of this. There are NO more bar shifts. You were lucky i knew you and thought the now deleted banter was funny.

I really don't like being the "Bloodhound", so PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ME DO THIS AGAIN!!

Quick Q
I know this is a festival and it runs a bit like clock work and a bit like the seat of our pants, but seeing this is my first time CPL experience- is there a start time estimate (general) for bar service or camp meal? would help for estimating prep time and job figuring outer.
Also is there and emphasis on making sure people know it is imperative to help close down (strike) and clean up at the end, when people start to fade away. Again not with CPL, but with other camps this has a tendency to happen.

There are more jobs on the spreadsheet than people on this list!
EVERYONE needs to sign up for a job. That's the whole point of what we do. it avoids people constantly wandering around asking what they can do. We don't want this to feel like work and if people don't sign up to help the rest of us have to pick up the slack, THEN IT FEELS LIKE WORK!

@Stephanie, There is no official start time for out parties they kinda kick off when we are ready ei: bar is set up, space is cleaned (this includes moop) and music is playing. They will be evening parties around sunset is generally a good time. (correct me if i am wrong). People generally hang out anyway in dribs and drabs this doesn't mean we are open. There will be a sign stating that. As for food and meals the scheduled meals are for crew who are working those shifts and those that happen to be around. We count on serving about 50 but please don't expect to get feed every evening there is a rostered cook on. As you can see from the crew list it is growing every day and we can't feed all of you every day/night you do need to look after yourselves. If you have food to contribute to meals feel free to discuss that with the chefs. 
In terms of closing the party down, we shut it down if:
-run out of booze (usually there will be a call for donations before this happens) just on this note we do try to rashen out the alcohol and mixers for each of the parties that we have, please bring your donations ASAP so we can work out what we've got to work with. 
-any or all of us are exhausted and want to close down 
There will always be one of the main core crew peeps around to take responsibility to close the music and bar down and lock the container up. 
once the music stops and the bar is closed people generally fade away. 
As we are a theme camp there will be randoms coming through the space so please be mindful of keeping your things safe. We are all here to give an experience to those who visit so please treat each other and randoms with respect. Share the idea of what we do and allow them to have a wonderful time.

To be clear, I was talking about the break down(strike)  and clean-up at the end of the week at the end of the festival...at Ashram it was such a big job, to clean up and pack down the camp, and having all hands on deck was so important, as everyone is exhausted and would forget in the bliss of the week that that it needed to be done and drive away.  More hands, happy hands. Less hands, cranky hands. Gentle/not so gentle reminders were always put out to keep it in the consciousness of the many.

Can't wait to get innit! I can almost taste it!  Bring on the freshies!

Hi Stephanie,

Great question, yes we will be breaking down the main marquee and 85% of the camp on the Friday day. We will just be leaving the dome setup for hanging out in on the Friday night. That way its a quick couple of hours Saturday morning and we're done!

Great point Steph, there isn't a spot on the roster for camp breakdown, and that's because EVERYONE is expected.  Just because you paid $50 bucks to join the camp, doesn't mean you just float around play/dance/eat and be merry.  You ain't merry til you help build, clean and breakdown - that's everyone's responsibility - and we know who you are, we've got a list and we've checked it twice.  haha!  

I love it, makes me feel like a contributing part of the team.  Being part of this camp is special, but it isn't VIP.  Lend a happy willing hand and be part of the love.

Just to be clear and avoid confusion, we will begin pack down on Friday, even though the festival is still going (Sky and Axis stages - afternoon wrap up).  Please don't plan on leaving early to "avoid the rush" because you "have to get somewhere".  Stick around and help out.

 I've a gig in Melbourne on Friday night, which is imperative I'm back for, so even though I'd love nothing more than to lend a hand with bump out, sadly I will not be able to :-( - I'm actually sad about this, you know I can't get enough of that lending a hand bizo :-) will be doing a lot of that at the lifestyle village during my stay so will get my fix there, and of course where I can throughout CPL..

*sniff sniff* - Yes there's a definite whiff of preclipse oozing through the air

Guys,

You are all seriously amazing for all the effort put in so far. This is a SERIOUSLY SERIOUS UNDERTAKING (seriously!) and takes up every inch of one's spare time, particularly if you've got another job to attend to, and sleep, and eat.

Cannot wait to party with all you beautiful people and save the massages and Manos-soapy-rubdowns for the core posse working long hours to get all this done.

A friend of mine from NYC who was kicking off his Australian tour at Eclipse has decided to defer his visit for a few months. 

Something about a cyclone and his bar and the roof and a civil defence emergency...I have no idea what he's talking about, but it sounds most inconvenient.

Attention CPL Peeps!

Our container is back on home tuff after its little trip up north! And it need our help :)

In fact i need your help, I know most crew cannot come n help unpack, collect camping gear, and repack the camp items not taken up north, until Saturday, but I need to get the PA system out on Friday!

So I'm looking for three or four crew to meet me out in Bayswater around 11am on Friday, should take less than 1 hour.... If we get more than four, then we might be able to smash out the repack and I could bring all camping gear back to my warehouse in Abbotsford for collection by crew not able to make it.

I have room in my van for one...

Hi all

I could come also if you need, would like me! I do have a 4WD however after blowing the head gasket and putting the temporary liquid metal stuff in the radiator as a quick fix, I don't know when it will go on me again so longer trips are a bit dodgy and I am hoping to still get myself to RFL festival next week in it! If we need it for Barpram space (cause I can bring Jasmine back to Northcote too) then I will drive out but if we don't need my wheels, just my hands then if I can get a lift with someone? I could get myself in my car from Brunswick to Wesgarth or where ever in the local hood! Let me know if you need me or not and if you need my car or not.

I can still come out if Ralf can drive me in Rebecca's car if that is what he is doing?? It would be awesome if I could be picked up from 138 Cromwell St, Collingwood (I guess I will be ready to go at 10 am so any time after that) - my number is 0416 315 715 - if I can't be picked up then I could drive to Scotty's by whatever time I need to be there by and I will need that address too.

Just spoke to Scott and he said he lives in Collingwood so it should be no problem picking me up from 138 Cromwell St, Collingwood in Beccles car on your way to the container. I guess I will be ready to go at 10 am so any time after that - my number is 0416 315 715 (oh you don't have a phone) - The building is a bright mid blue warehouse facade. There should be car parks for PAN International and Cultural Infusion going from the front door towards the school and turn right off the street past the last building (which is a mechanics) into the car park area and the car parks are the first 3 ones there. Then buzz the intercom on the door and ask the person who answers for me and I will come down. Sweet. See you tomorrow - fingers crossed you get this or the Facebook message.

Hi Scotty, All,

Unfortunately neither Gus or I from Kamp Kraken can be there for this today. Tomorrow is very much a 'maybe' for me as my car broke down earlier this week which is a bit of a shit.

There's a fair bit of Kamp Kraken stuff in the container (easily a car full), so there's no expectation from us that this will be brought back / pulled out of the container.

I would like to however arrange some other time we can get to the container in the coming weeks....

Ok, so we do need another packing attempt tomorrow. Allan will be there at 11am for two hours. 

Ralf kinda knows what's happening, but I will outline what I think is the best plan of attack.

Empty blue container that has the excess CPL gear stored. Move all Kamp Kracken and BBB items into this blue container to be collected mid week. Re pack CPL container with the excess gear. 

Items that still need to be found and brought back to the city (my warehouse in abbotsford is a good place to store if need be).

Nick woodfords 2 x small keg, 1 x gas cylinder , I x beer esky. Drill

Big blue esky ( needed for nye) 
Any camping gear
1 x audio cable - long black with blue plugs (from PA system )


If I've missed anything please add to this list. 

Theore hands tomorrow the better :)

Most of the Kamp Kraken stuff should be labelled. Roughly there is:

Big brown 40L water drum
20l white Jerry can
Canvas bag tee pee 
Big yellow ice box
Small grey tool box
Flat black plastic tool box
Red and wooden sledge hammer
Roll of astroturf
Black shower tubing
Three rolls of bamboo sheets
Long 2.5m and short 0.6m star pickets

Ok. Only had a small team today so didn't get everything done. All of camp kraken and bbb stuff is now in the blue tempory container. Bbb is front left (looking in) camp kraken is behind that. Suggest Steve Manos you speak to Jon watts and organise a time to go out together so you don't have to double handle stuff. 

We still need one more crack to get all of the CPL stuff to get back in our own container and sorted correctly. Will need volunteers for this either this week or next Saturday. 

Anybody that's still got personal stuff there it's in the back of the blue container and will be put in to the tip if you do not organise its collection promptly as we do not have room to store your things. if you do have stuff perhaps you can come collect and help unpacking as coco has paid for the transport. Love yous all. xx

hi all

Can everyone please keep an eye out for a couple of items that were lost at Coco Poco Loco's last party (Bollywood Ninja).
Lila from Mullimbimby (White haired amazing lady) would love to get back her ceremonial communication scarfe. It is Peacock blue - pure cashmire wool scarfe - light silver design painted on by an Indigenous woman

She also lost a light weight travel Jacket - oil green/Kaki coloured and possibly Kathmandu brand - the breathing material that is lightweight but keeps you warm!

She is not so fussed re the jacket however the scarfe is very special to her. I mention the jacket also as they may turn up together. I hope to get the scarfe back to her. Call me on 0416 315 715 or Lila on 0406 486 785

Even if you don't have it but have information that could lead to its return, that would be most excellent.
