Dear all

Dose anyone have experience getting Taiwan Travel Permit in mainland China? I do not have time to get one here in the US. I was told we have to get both a permit issued by Taiwan to enter and a permit issued by China to leave for Taiwan. How long will it take to get both permits. Any suggestion on this will be appreciated.

Thanks!

hi, Fang,
See https://cpgis.org/Conferences/Transportation.aspx?ID=69
The first link listed there is useful for you. It will take you one month or so for both Taiwan Tong Xing Zheng and Permit/visa to Taiwan (Ru Tai Zheng). Maybe some travel agencies could speed them up.

Good luck!

Dear Shixiong

Thanks! I am Chinese citizen with green card. According to the second link you gave me, it requires 户口簿原件及复印件一张 and 身份证原件及复印件一张, which I do not have any more. It also is said

I am sure I can get one in China unless flying to Taiwan directly, but have bought my ticket to China already. Any other suggestion?

Hi, Fang,
You need to get a visa to Taiwan anyway. If you can get it from USA, it will be much easier. You can enter Taiwan from third country, such as Thailand, Vietnam or other country (which need not a visa with Chinese passport) first, then fly to Taiwan.
I have a Hong Kong visa from last year and I got my Taiwan visa in NYC, which took me 3-5 days. I am planning to enter Hong Kong first, and then fly to Taiwan.
Good luck!
