Just chatted on the phone with Larry Oswald from
the Oregon State Parks. At this point, it seems that we
are only likely to have to endure a few ripples of disturbance with
our flying at Ecola. There are concerns of conflicts with other
users and a general desire to meet with us and find out more of who
we (PG Pilots) are and what our uses would be. Not just at Ecola,
but for most of the north coast. (I'm still unclear how far south
the local jurisdiction reaches.) The next step is to leave him alone
until after Labor Day weekend. Seems they get a bit busy this week!
I will be setting up an appointment to meet with him after this
weekend.
His general demeanor was very accepting, and more than anything it
seems it's just past time for us to have been in touch with our
'landowner' and find out what their current needs are.
I will keep you posted, as to what all this portends. With Ancils'
assistance, this really doesn't have the feel that it's going to be
that much of a problem at all.
Hope to fly at Ecola again soon!
