Thanksgiving flying at Santa Barbara

I have the full week of Thanksgiving off work, and I'm considering heading to Santa Barbara for some flying, maybe coming back just before Thanksgiving or just after it. I've never flown down there, but I'm told the flying is great and this is the best time of year. The return flight would be around $320 - $450. Alternative would be a very long drive. Steve Forsland is currently working in LA and is interested.

I went there last February, had lots of fun. If you want a cheap hotel
that is good, the Sandman Inn thru Orbitz was dirt cheap, well located
and was surprisingly good with free breakfast.
Best flight I could get was through United
Avis was cheapest car by far

All thru Orbitz.

Flew with Rob Sporer, they have a van you can buy a seat in to get to
the sites. Very nice place.
