Peterson Butte Flight Report

Shortly after 3 yesterday, Peter and I hiked to the top and launched into smooth 8WSW and soared near the peak. I note that this was Peter's first flight since having a full knee replacement 31 days ago! What an animal! A cell was tracking across the valley toward us and ended up chasing us out of the air, not without getting our wings a bit wet. The wind speed was low enough and the direction reasonable to land at the cars, but we had to hasten our descent with ears and speed bar because it was lofty everywhere. We dried out our wings when the sun came back out and watched Steve F hike up to the first bench and make a few turns on his way down. It looked like it was turning on again with thermals and sunshine when we were leaving, but what a great way to finish off a work week!
