I've heard that some people would find it helpful if I post reminders and agendas to the mailing lists:
Hello friends!
Based on feedback from
you, I'm going to start pushing out a meeting agenda ahead of the
meeting. I've had a pretty busy month and this one is later than I'd
like them to be. I'm thinking of doing an agenda one week out from
online meetings, and at least two weeks out from the quarterly in person
meetings.
Location and Time:
This next meeting is on
Tuesday May 6th at 7:30, and it will be
online. This is the invite link:

We
are going to try to balance hearing from people with being concise. If a
few people have a lot to add on a subject, that's great! I'd love to
hear more from you. If it seems like there's a lot to discuss we may
defer further discussion to a special meetup on that subject.
1. Switch to major in person quarterly meetings
We
need to pick a date for the first meeting, we need to figure out a
venue, and get it planned. There are a number of things to consider
here, so please get in touch if you would like to help. I'd love to get a
few people interested enough get together with me to help plan out the
details. Shoot me an email or telegram message if you are interested,
even if you can't make it to the club meeting.
2. Bam Bam Upgrades
Michael Cook has proposed an upgrade to fix the weather station outages
at cliffside. The cost is less than 500$, and I will send out an online
vote after the meeting, unless we happen get a quorum this Tuesday.
3. Oceanside Property Transfer
If you haven't heard yet, Reed Gleason has officially transferred the
Oceanside launch to Freeflight Preservation NRC. Thanks Reed, and thanks
to Jay Zollinger for all the time he's put into facilitating that!
4. Oceanside Open
Share stories, thoughts and ideas for what we could do next year. If you have a video or a good photo, share it!
Additional Notes:
I
am trying to get a committee going to figure out a long term plan for
the road up to Cliffside. If you have experience with that road, or know
about gravel road resurfacing generally, contact me and I'll add you to
the group.
Jim Donaldson's
wife Mary contacted me. Jim passed away late last year, and she found a
box of pictures of him and other members flying. Are there any friends
of his that would like those photos?
That's
it for now, I'll try to put out some kind of meeting recap later this
week. We don't have a club secretary, so if anyone wants to do that,
email me!
