Oceanside 6-9-12
First site of the day -- only one pilot flew. When we arrived the wind on launch was perfect, but by the time anyone had their wings out it had clocked around north and the wind on launch was nil. Rich did a forward and said hi to some guests at the Clifftop Inn. After that everyone had multiple soaring flights at Cape Lookout, even when the sun came out, with 4-6 hrs of airtime for most.
Bumpy day with 1-2 hour flights over the top of Sugar. Someone got on the radio and said there was a sun dog way up in the sky, which I assumed meant Forslund until I looked up. The wind wasn't very strong, but the thermic cycles were. It was gusty when the first two groups launched midday and later grew into 0-10 gusts, so we headed to Cape Lookout in the afternoon for extended sledders. Paul from Anacortes had an Ozone Delta wing that looked just like mine on a diet.
