Eric and I left Portland around 1, got to launch at about 3:30 and
launched about 4. Cycles on launch were light, but nice, and the sky
was mostly clear. The air was buoyant near the ground along the ridge
and then around 1000 fpm up or down in the thermals. Yahoo! Had a
couple clouds form and we were able to climb under them to about 6000
feet. A little over an hour later some high cirrus slowed things down.
I top landed on the trail and considered hiking down... then
relaunched and flew out to land in the parking lot where Eric had
already landed. Awesome flight at a new site for me. That first
thermal turn over the back is pretty dramatic. ;)
