Who would be the most charismatic pilot fitting Tracy's requirement?  Here's a chance to represent our sport positively.
Too bad Steve Roti doesn't get to the Gorge often.
Maybe Steve Forslund?

Hello Reed,
I was recently hired to produce "ten&2," a new half hour travel, culture, and lifestyle television show based in the NW. Through this show, we will share with our viewers the people, places, and activities that make the NW unique. "ten&2" will premier this Fall, most likely on KGW, although we are in negotiations to be sure it finds the right home.
We just finished shooting our first two episodes. Episode 1 features whale watching with prominent Marine Biologist and Grey Whale Researcher Kerry Newell; Lincoln City's Tikis at 51st, The Inn at Spanish Head, and Jennifer Sears Glass Art Studio; and a visit with some of Portland's pirates and their tall ship The Royaliste. Episode 2 is Seattle based, featuring Oxbox Farm and a cooking segment with Chef Peter Burke of Boka Restaurant; Fall City Wallaby ranch; and a visit with Alex Toth, a gentleman who created a Space Needle Pen for the Seattle World's Fair 50 years ago, and has recently reintroduced the pen to commemorate the Space Needle's 50th anniversary.
For Episode 3, we will be sticking a bit closer to home. We are very interested in including a segment about paragliding in the Gorge. I would like to familiarize viewers with the sport and also tell a unique story about a paraglider. For example, a person who does something unusual within the sport, or does it with particular finesse - a family who paraglides together, someone who has won a prominent competition, someone who does something innovative or unique - just a compelling story to share with the viewers. Maybe that person is you, or maybe someone in your club.
In any case, if you and/or members of your club are interested in becoming involved with this episode, please let me know. We will be shooting it in mid-late September.
Thanks for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.
Take care,
Tracy

Not me. My suggestions from the Portland area pilots: Nick Blizzard, Alan Flemming, Matt Henzi, Kelly Kellar, James Lee, Eric Miller, Jeff Wishnie.

I think a story on Nick and Dave Blizzard would be fun.
They're family. And you could include Nick's family packed along in his Sprinter van. Little August on radio for retrieve would be pretty cute schtuff.
And any video that gets a shot of Dave is a good video in my book.

I'll put my 2cents worth in here on this:  I think Dave Blizzard and his son Nick would be a very unique and individualistic pair to be included in the segment.
Dave is a real card and his son and he also share powered paragliding together.  Dave's quite the character!

All good candidates so far.  Also, I think Brad and Maren would be good canidates.  They have a unique history, skills, and insight to the future of paragliding.

They both grew up paragliding
Met while paragliding
Planned to be Maried while paragliding by an ordained paraglider pilot
They both became instructors and founded Discover Paragliding
They are part of the flying community and support the local Cascade Paragliding Club (CPC).
They both enjoy partaking in some of the more abnormal modes of paragliding flight i.e., ACRO, motor, towing by vehicle and towing by boat.

Because there is alot of interface with other flying community members that have unique skills or credentials there is opportunity for those individuals to share and add value to the documentary, such as Sarge being an Ordained  Minister/pilot and our Competition XC pilots (Mike Steed, Matt Henzi).
My 2cents

Dave

Jon Malmberg would be good for some energy and fun footage. Of course  Rick Higgins has that great hair(does he still?) Or how about someone who has flown 102 miles. Instructors are used to explaining the sport and Brad and Maren do a great job with lots of enthusiasm and energy.

My first thought was Bam Bam (Malmberg). He's epitomizes the Gorge,
he's an interesting guy, loves to tell stories, understands video
production, and even though he's not 'core CPC' he joins and shares
when needed. I'd watch that episode. Of course Dave and Nick would be
great too, and fit the family theme better. Forslund would be,
'interesting' also. ;)
