Denver Launches Vibrant Denver Bond Interactive Dashboard

The City and County of Denver has launched a new online dashboard to give residents greater transparency into the progress of the $950 million Vibrant Denver Bond Program. The interactive tool allows users to explore all 58 voter-approved projects, with detailed information on scope, schedule, budget, and construction timelines. Residents can also filter projects by topic or City Council district, view project locations, and track updates with photos as work begins.

First introduced at the March 31, 2026 Mayor-Council meeting, the dashboard is designed to ensure accountability and keep Denverites informed as projects move forward. As designs are developed, the city will also provide opportunities for public input and feedback.

Mid-century Modern Interior of the All Inn Hotel
Inside Denver’s New All Inn Hotel, Another Restoration of East Colfax’s Motel Heydays

Denver residents in District 10 now have a restored historic hotel that preserves East Colfax’s unique character while supporting local business and culture. The All Inn Hotel, located at 3015 E. Colfax Ave., reopened after years of vacancy, offering 54 rooms along with a restaurant and an all-day café and bar called All Is Well.

Councilmember Chris Hinds played a key role in encouraging the hotel’s restoration rather than converting the building into low-cost workforce housing. He recognized the need for more lodging options in the area and worked with city leaders to keep the hotel open.

Councilman Hinds joined Mayor Johnston, Jolon Clark with Parks and Recreation (DPR) and Alan Salazar, CEO/Manager with Denver Water to begin the process of Landscape Transformation at the City and County building
Climate-resilient Landscaping Coming to Denver City & County Building

Denver City Councilmember Chris Hinds is leading efforts to create healthier, more water-wise public spaces in District 10 by replacing thirsty grass with native plants.

At a recent event with Mayor Mike Johnston, Denver Water, and Denver Parks & Recreation, Chris helped launch a citywide project to transform landscapes and conserve water. This initiative replaces high-water turf with drought-tolerant native plants, reducing water use while improving local habitats and public spaces.

Chris says, “By choosing native landscaping, we’re cutting down on water waste and making our neighborhoods greener and more resilient.” This effort supports Denver’s response to drought conditions and helps protect the environment.

Chris Hinds worked to bring Veo’s fleet to Denver, expanding affordable and convenient transportation options for residents, employees, and visitors who want to get around without a car.

You can rent Veo’s devices through their mobile app, which also offers free or discounted rides for people enrolled in SNAP or Medicaid. This helps make micromobility more accessible to everyone.

City and County of Denver Transfers Bison to Tribal Nations

Denver residents in District 10 can take pride in supporting the return of wild bison to Indigenous lands, a step that honors Native culture and conservation. Last month, Denver Parks and Recreation transferred 34 American Bison to the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and Navajo Nation. This donation helps restore bison populations and acknowledges tribal sovereignty. Many tribal members shared deep feelings, from gratitude to sorrow, reflecting on the buffalo’s near-extinction and cultural loss. For the fifth year, Denver has chosen to donate its yearling bison to Indigenous tribes instead of auctioning them, showing ongoing commitment to respectful partnerships and wildlife preservation. What's more, this process is now permanent thanks to legislation unanimously passed by Denver City Council just a few weeks ago.

Brown Palace Hotel and Spa with Cowboy Statue

Historic Brown Palace Hotel is listed For Sale

Denver’s historic Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, a landmark in the city’s skyline since 1892, is now for sale along with the neighboring Holiday Inn Express. This sale offers a rare chance to preserve and celebrate a treasured part of Denver’s heritage right here in District 10. The Brown Palace is known for its stunning eight-story atrium and has welcomed famous guests including The Beatles and Queen Elizabeth II. It also hosts the annual "Cascade of Champagne Glasses" during the holidays, a tradition many locals cherish.

Councilman Hinds is actively following this sale to ensure that any future development respects the neighborhood’s character and benefits residents. As Denver grows, protecting historic sites like the Brown Palace helps maintain the unique identity of our community while supporting tourism and jobs. The hotel’s sale highlights a growing trend in hospitality where travelers seek authentic experiences connected to history and culture. This could mean more visitors and economic opportunities for District 10!

Residents can expect Councilman Hinds to keep advocating for thoughtful development that balances growth with preserving what makes our neighborhoods special. "This is a moment to stay engaged and share your thoughts on how the Brown Palace and surrounding areas should evolve to serve the community best," the Councilman said.

District 6 Denver Police Station at night

Denver Will Combine Police Station, Housing, Retail on One Colfax Block

District 6’s police station on Colfax Avenue will soon include new housing and retail space, helping meet local needs for affordable homes and convenient shops. Chris Hinds supports this mixed-use development that combines safety, housing, and business opportunities in one place. Mayor Johnston confirmed the city will move forward with plans to build workforce housing alongside the police station, which is expected to be finished by the end of 2027. This timing aligns with the completion of the bus rapid transit project on Colfax, improving transportation options for residents. Adding housing on public land reflects a city priority to create more affordable homes while strengthening community services.
