Hello All, (BCC'd some advocates)

I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the meeting for tomorrow.
I had posted screenshots to Reddit about from what was available about a month ago to get any additional feedback to provide on the Stakeholder Working Group.
https://www.reddit.com/r/VisionZeroDenver/comments/1nzw1ol/1st_avenue_redesign_stakeholder_working_group_930/

I'm unable to connect the people in the r/BikeDenver sub directly to that information, if any of you are willing to help with that.
I made a new post with the updated flyer in r/VisionZeroDenver. Reddit doesn't like Bitly links, so it's helpful to have a Mod make the post.

I shared my concerns with the RTD Board Member in the district about the North & Southbound 12 Route stops in the r/RTDDenver sub.
I attempted to give a video explanation on Instagram suggesting we relocate the stops to the overpass. Idea here is to make that intersection more like a "Transit Hub" like with other BRT routes to help future plan. It will leave room for shelters to be installed & maybe allow us to eliminate the slip lane from Downing onto 1st making that corner even safer. Putting the stop in the vehicle travel lane will leave room for the Cherry Creek Trail to safely pass behind it. Compare to the stops on 18th Street Downtown with the bike lane behind them to understand what I'm suggesting.

Lastly, I think a plan for a high-water detour would be good unless we're able to also widen the trail from Downing to Marion somehow. It feels super sketchy along that narrow sidewalk if the underpass is closed & we don't know that it is closed until we get there all the way from Gilpin. Anyone who rides a cargo bike to tows a trailer knows how difficult it can be to turn around on a trail. The detour is mostly just signage, but we can & should expand it from Downing to Gilpin, if we're not expanding the trail from Downing to Marion.

Thank you for your consideration & your advocacy!

Respectfully,
Bryan Wilson
