Hello,

I've noticed some issues in City Park with the Denver Moves: Bikes Update.
https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/f4fafe1405b6443da158f4d9e257887a

I attempted to mark them in the correct color schemes.
- Red: (This is supposed to be car-free) at the Steele Entrance.)
- Yellow: Shared Sidewalk
- Green: Trails (Some are concrete in the SE Corner, but the rest are asphalt.)

I have five requests:
- 1: Can we please have the map updated with these changes & any others some may have noticed?
- 2: Once completed, can we please communicate these connections with Denver Parks & Recreation? In particular, the asphalt paths have been left in disrepair & need to be repaved to accommodate rolling bikes & scooters.
- 3: Can we please also look at connecting the "Car-Free" Sections of the park to include central roadways? Once you look at the other available options, the MLK Memorial has no connections to it without having to interact with vehicle traffic. This feels unsafe when trying to connect to the playground with children.
- 4: When permitting special events, maintain some connection around them when closing roads. We are constantly closing the short section of roadway south of the pavilion & look how many roads, sidewalks, & trails lead to that specific location. There have been other issues, but I feel that this is the most prevalent.
- 5: Relocate porta-potties so that they don't open into crossing bicycle traffic. Wash Park is a good example.

Essentially, I'm asking that we treat City Park the same as Wash Park.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Respectfully,
Bryan Wilson

Hello,

I've noticed some issues in Cheesman Park with the Denver Moves: Bikes Update.

I attempted to mark them in the correct color schemes.
- Yellow: Shared Sidewalk
- Green: Trails (These are existing asphalt that haven't been maintained.)

- 3: Can we please also look at connecting a shared-use sidewalk to Franklin in the SW Corner & to Williams in the North? We need plans to connect the bike routes leading into the park that are safe from vehicle traffic. I'm especially concerned about the Williams Entrance in the South, which is why I'm suggesting Franklin, & I'm concerned about the lack of connection from the planned bikeway on High St in the North. We should shift that to Williams & add a shared-use entrance there.
- 4: When permitting special events, maintain some connection around them when closing roads. We are constantly closing the south loop without any connection around the events.

Hello again,

In addition to the original requests, please add some sort of striping to the Car-Free connection through City Park from around Garfield Street all the way to the West Traffic Circle.
This will help keep pedestrians & bike commuters separated to avoid collisions. I feel this is especially important from the connection at Steele Street since it is also the ADA Compliant Connection for the residents at Montview Manor.

This is just a general idea of what I'm suggesting. Route the bikes down the center of the roadway, generally obeying traffic laws. We can then have the pedestrians walk to the outside against bike traffic so they see riders coming, and since many of them have dogs anyway.

(Screen shot from Google Maps July 2015. Notice how the dumpsters are off the roadway.)

I would like to continue this all the way to the West Traffic Circle once we eliminate cars from the roadways connecting to the MLK Memorial. Essentially, I'm asking for a setup similar to Wash Park.

Opening the roadway to traffic along Duck Lake will make the Pavilion Parking Lot accessible from the West, while making the Zoo Parking Lot accessible from the East. Seems like a win for everyone.

Thank you in advance for your help!
