Applications for Business License Hearing Fund are open
March 2, 2026
Dear Denver Registered Neighborhood Organization (RNO) representative,
This email from the Denver Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP), is to inform you that the Business
License Hearing Fund is returning for 2026.
Applications are now open. This is part of the city’s continuous effort to support neighborhood participation in the decision process whether to approve various liquor and marijuana business licenses and make the licensing hearing
process more accessible and inclusive.
In 2026, the fund will provide qualifying applicants with mini-grants of up to $5,000 for reimbursement of legal costs associated with requesting and participating in a needs and desires hearing. Community members and Registered Neighborhood Organizations
who have participated or will participate in a needs and desires licensing hearing for a liquor, cabaret, or marijuana application between Oct. 1, 2025, and Sept. 30, 2026, may be eligible and are encouraged to apply.
DLCP will accept applications until Oct. 31 or until the $30,000 city funds allocated for the program are exhausted. Funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, so potentially eligible grantees are encouraged to apply early. More information about
eligibility requirements and a link to apply for a mini-grant can be found on our website.
If you have questions or comments, email DLCPhe...@denvergov.org.
Thank you,
Denver Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection
