Thank you for your response, but no Porta-potties are provided at that location, which is part of the problem.

Requesting two(2) Porta-potties on the East side of the seasonal restroom year round since they're only open from 9am - 2pm, & some days not unlocked at all.

Maybe we can figure out some way to have them unlock automatically in the future so they can open earlier before the park gets hot.

Thank you,
Bryan Wilson

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the City & County of Denver on 6/27/2025 regarding your Request with the work completed by Parks & Recreation.
  • Issue: PR - Park Maintenance/Irrigation
  • Resolution Comments: Hello thank you for letting us know about the restroom closure. Park restrooms will be open from 9am-2pm except for the following locations which are closed for various reasons (vandalism, major damages, upgrades, sewer line failures, etc.): Sonny Lawson, Greenway Park, Crestmoor, Rude, Barnum Park and Barnum East Park, Bear Creek, Ruby Hill. Due to ongoing budget cuts and staffing shortages there may be times when restrooms are unable to be opened, staff will post signage if that happens. In the event restrooms are closed, there are portolet(s) provided.
  • Description: Case submitted via Online Service Hub:
    Hello,

The seasonal restrooms in City Park near the Denver Museum of Nature and
Science were still locked at 8:45 a.m. on Friday, June 25th.

Thank you for your response.

Then perhaps this location needs to be open outside the hours of 9am to 2pm, especially given the City Park Nature Playground & the City Park Splash pad.

Only being open from 9-2pm isn't acceptable for this location with the amenities nearby.

Thank you for your understanding.

Respectfully,
Bryan Wilson

Bryan,

Thank you for your email.  We have reviewed your request and are unable to accommodate it at this time.  Our operations team works hard to place port-o-lets equitably citywide across our over 300 Parks within the confines of our limited budget.

Thank you, and have a great day.

As a follow-up...

It's after 9:00 a.m., the City Park tennis court seasonal restrooms are not open, but there are TWO(2) ADA compliant Porta-potties at that location.

Request for that to be matched at the seasonal restrooms by the city park splash pad, or for one of those Porta-potties to be relocated to that location.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.
