Dear all,

I tried to compile cp2k following the "https://www.cp2k.org/howto:compile_on_windows". I managed to get into the last part, but it failed to execute "cp2k.ssmp". I retried every steps from the start. Now it shows an error at the "./install_cp2k_toolchain.sh --mpi-mode=no"

Here is the messages:

==================== Installing LIBINT ====================
libint-v2.6.0-cp2k-lmax-5.tgz is found

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
ERROR: (./scripts/stage3/install_libint.sh, line 60) Non-zero exit code detected.

Any suggestion to fix this problem? Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Stanley

Hi Stanley

I could not reproduce the error which you observed using a laptop with Win10 (22H2), but I have updated on this occasion the description for the latest CP2K release v2025.1 and Ubuntu LTS release 24.04 using WSL, just in case you want to give it another try.

Best

Matthias

Hello Stanley,

Error "gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file" means that downloaded file was somehow corrupted. Please try to remove it and re-run install_cp2k_toolchain.sh:

cd tools/toolchain
rm build/libint-v2.6.0-cp2k-lmax-5.tgz
./install_cp2k_toolchain.sh <...your args here...>

Dear Matthias and Tokarev,

I removed and compiled the newest released version (2025.1). Now it is working. The error occurred because I didn't do the printed instruction properly after the install_cp2k_toolchain.sh, specifically the copy directory.

Thank you for your responds. I will start learning the basic.

Best regards,

Stanley

Hello Matthias & Tokarev.

I removed and compiled it again using the latest released (2025.1). Now it is working.  The error occurred because I didn't follow the printed instruction properly after ./install_cp2k_toolchain.sh and I couldn't do basic linux command (copy directory).

Thank you very much for your help. I will start learning the basic.

Best regards,

Stanley
