Hi,

I am having some problems with mail attachments with Fw1 4.1sp2 on Aix. All
my email attachments are stripped when the filename use any kind of
accentuation (?) like ביםףתחד, going through the security server. I am not
stripping intencionally any kind of attachment.
In the email body appears the message <MIME ATTACHMENT STRIPPED>
The log viewer shows: Invalid encoding, Forbidden mime attachment

If I change the attachment enconding to uuencode, or switch back to
fw1-4.1sp0 it goes through.

Is this a known bug?

Thank you,

Bruno

My intention is not to block any attachment. I am lefting this field
blank. If I put * there I believe it would block everything.

Bonjour,
Je pense que votre client a un probleme de configuration de sa ressource
SMTP.
Dans action 2 de la ressource smtp, essayez d'abord pour le S/MIME type de
mettre *.
Merci de me tenir au courant de l'evolution du probleme.

ok we resolved the problem, it is simple :

I made A BIIIIIIIIIGGGG misthake : not * in Strip MIME of type
just erase all, a panel will appear say NO to let it empty.
we made a test. it's ok

Effectively, removing the current entry "strip mime type : message/partial"
in the smtp definition solves the problem, but what are the risks to do so
when using a cvp server to analyze messages. ?

We currently have this problem of "Mime Attachment Stripped" (french accents
in message header)
For outgoing messages we solve the problem by checking "authorize 8 bits
characters in the header" in Outlook-express options,
but the problem persists with ingoing messages except if the outside mail
senders modify ther mail client in the same way (not easy ...)

have some one found another solution ?
