It went really well. It may not seem like much, but there's a whole new
installation mechanism in place now. And it's kicking ass. It's nothing
special, just a collection of shell scripts -- the thing that's so
great is how it will facilitate component-by-comonent installs.
For instance, right now I am testing the "base" and "ui" component
installations. For the CoyMon management interface, "base", "ui", and
"netflow-mgmt" components will be installed. For collectors, the "base"
and "netflow-clct" components will be installed. This is going to
simplify sooo many tasks (both maintenance and development). In fact,
it has already made the installation orders of magnitude less
complicated and stressfull than it was for the VA deplyments.
I'm keeping the wiki page updated with progres details, status, and how
to test whatever is completed:
