(As mentioned previously to some of you) The Southern African Catholic
Bishop's Conference (SACBC) is organising a multi-faith ride for
climate justice from Musina to Durban. They will reach Durban on the
25th Nov and take part in activities leading up to COP17. As of this
morning they still have some places open and are looking for more
cyclists if any of you are interested or you know of any other climate
change activists/ cycle enthusiasts who might want to take part!
Please find the application attached and pass it on where you can
(please ignore the deadline date and please note that you/they should
send in your/their form asap if interested and we are willing to sort
out the medical certificates etc at a later date!)
Here is a some more info on the ride if needed:
We aim to have a total of 204 cyclists from South Africa, Botswana and
Swaziland take part in the ride which will be broken up into 14 legs
of about 100km each. A core group of 6 organizers will ride the
entire route while 14 different cyclists will ride each leg in relay,
handing over to the next 14 at the end of each leg. People of all
faiths are invited to apply to take part in one leg of the ride. The
bike ride aims to raise awareness on climate change and COP17.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Thank you so much!
