Hey again!

I emailed Debra Roberts and Jo Boulle in eThekweni municipality about what we discussed in our last meeting. I discussed the potential for using the essay competition to find the "climate change ambassadors", and maybe include accreditation to the meeting as part of the price. Further I talked about the training sessions and whether they could maybe hold one session.

The reply was short but positive. Debra said that this is exactly in line with what they are thinking! I guess that is a go ahead!

Further I suggested that they could join our next Skype meeting if they wanted. Debra said that they were both very busy at the moment so it depends on when the meeting is. Is it possible to include Debra and Jo in the next doodle poll? In that way we could maybe ensure that at least one of them could attend.

And if one of them do attend, I would suggest that we use the first part of the meeting to issues that concern them, so they dont have to listen to all our admin :)

Hi Karolina,

I should have mentioned that as it turns out the WESSA Eco-Schools are already running such a programme, and thus it would make more sense not to reinvent the wheel and start our own programme, especially considering how late in the year it is, but rather support their initiative. What do you reckon? I have attached details of their initiative to this email.

Also please can you clarify which training sessions you are referring to.

Kind regards
Alex

Hi,

The WESSA Eco-Schools programme looks fantastic, and I think it would be amazing if we could support them but at the same time we shouldn't pass up this opportunity that Debra and Jo are offering. Getting accreditation for other young people would be amazing + training them. The idea of ' Climate Change  Ambassadors' is one i really support.

About them going our next call - Would it not be better for us to have the next call just for us so that we can re-group and make sure we are all on the same page (since there were so few of us in the last meeting) then add the to the poll for the following meeting?

Thanks for your hard work guys, really impressed with how things are coming along!

Hi Fatima,

Apologies for my ignorance, but what "accreditation" and training would the youngsters get, and how it this being run. Perhaps I've missed other emails on this, but I'm not sure what is intended here. Also what exactly is it that Debra and Jo are said to be offering? Could someone please elaborate.

Kind regards
Alex

Hi Alex!

The training sessions were discussed in our last skype meeting, should say something about it in the minutes. And the accreditation is for COP, Debra and Jo said that they might be able to get some youth (the Climate change ambassadors) in with the municipalitys accreditation.

Regards

Karolina

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know how to set up a doodle poll in order to see when the best time for a meeting is? As it seems that everyone is keen to meet, but no one is willing to set up a time. I would, but I'm technologically challenged.

Karolina, thank you very much for helping with my ignorance. It would be amazing if we can get some youngsters accredited. I think we should probably get going on this pretty soon.

Kind regards
Alex
