Suggestion: Ietherpad for POWG Meeting

Hi colleuges,

I suggest we have our next meeting via : http://ietherpad.com/1CJWk1dZ55 with this program, everyone can contribute directly and is less stressful when compiling the minutes. We use it for Earth charter and Rio+20 meetings and work very fine. To prepare the minutes, we simply have to edit it and send out the link to all those concern.  It also ensure that everyone input is added automatically. We can even do it along side skype voice call. What do you think?

Thanks for the suggestion, always good to have new ideas about how we can communicate more effectively! I've not come accross this before, but it looks a bit like googledocs - is that how it works? I'm happy to give it a try if other people are comfortable using it.

Hi Pals,

Its very much semilar to googledoc.. Maybe the only different is, with ietherpad, participanst are seen online and anyone can  inter chat room with no problem. The note taker can also easily add every one contribtion and get exactly what is been discuss, where she / her has problem, the facilator or anybody else can easily take over and meeting continue. find here an example of recent meeting on  rio+20 piratepad. Hi Pals, in the link:  http://ietherpad.com/4sG7oT6dMx is the sample of the ietherpad we will be using in our next meeting. Note: it does not required any signing in. Simply click on the link at the appointed time and you are there. Write your name and country ( Example: Ebrima, Gambia) and choose your color, then you are good to go.

At the same, we will have skype voice call. but only the facilitator speaks. Other participants shall have a listen position and shall speak only when neccessary ( for example, to make intervention, ask question or response to question) it however require the approval of the Facilitator ( or chair). we have to be organised at least as future negotiators....

@ Devine: Since you are bottomlining the group, i suggest that you Facilitate the meeting, while i serve as the note taker.  Also, please prepare a doodle poll for the next meeting and share it with all pals. Also prepare the agenda for the meeting and add it in the ietherpad link above. To prepare the agenda, please consider what was agreed in the last meeting. You also add the ACTs ( actionpoint). See samples in ietherpad link.
