Can we finalize this soon? I am excited in sending this out here in my country.

Dear all,

I hope all is fine with you !!!

First of all I would like to thanks Federico for the great work as well as other members of the WG here for their contributions. Federico to be honest your questions have inspired me to contribute to this work today and in the same time I would like to recognize the importance of advices and answers provided by Lucy.

As you might know I'm part of the YOUNGO Fundraising WG
since last year. We have a funding proposal in the hands of the Norwegian Government at the moment pending final decision and that also includes funding for the COY7 activities. We haven't hear from them since two months ago and for that reason I do agree that we need to fundraise for the COY7 without waiting. I have emailed the YOUNGO Fundraising WG to request members to support with the idea of working on a ''Call for Sponsors'' for the COY.

In the same time I have drafted a
'' Call for Sponsors for the COY7 '' as a request for financial support to organize the COY7 at the COP17 by YOUNGO. I have included the idea of having sponsors that will benefit from advertisement and promotion as advantages of sponsoring our conference. The '' Call '' should be sent out as soon as we have finalized it and will have three appendixes:

- A Budget proposal of the COY7,
- A Sponsoring Package for all sponsor interested (this document is based on the document drafted by Federico and sent out recently),
- A report of the past COY6 in Cancun (Tim do you have a copy with you?).

We need also contributions to make the document better and add some part missing like '' advantages of being a Sponsor of the COY7'' and the ''proposed final budget'' that could be at 10.000 Euros as proposed by Federico (I do support this idea but our budget should be clear on the use of this money) and could also enable us to support Global South youth participation. Another important appendix we need is the report of the last COY6 in Cancun. Is someone could have it, please share it with us and that could help.

I have attached the ''Call'' and the ''Appendix'' one to this email. Please have a look and don't hesitate to contribute. If we all agree with this we will work to raise support and get people involve to support the COY.

Regarding questions like who will host the funds, do we have a bank account, how the money (in case we receive funding) will be managed, etc most of these questions already have answers with the YOUNGO Fundraising WG when we were asked the same by the Norwegian Govt as well as the UNFCCC secretariat. So if a potential sponsor ask us the same, please let us know and we will be willing to support (I guess the others don't see any objection here).

Have a nice week to you all and looking forward to read your ideas on this !

Hi all,
this is to inform you about the recent news from the Fundraising WG.
In the last skype meeting, we basically faced 3 main points:
1 > Sponsors selection:  criteria / benefits
2 > Budget
3 > Official documents for partners
1) A document was approved regarding criteria/benefits for sponsors.
You can find it here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1079on3DvxyTHOnQTlW2jt1gWiiBH62GHyrxYqBQvUtk/edit?hl=en_US&authkey=CMuKlY0H
We still have to go into details, but it's a first idea. Suggestions
are welcome.
2) Since last year we spent about 4.800 €, it came out that
considering living cost in SA, we will probably need more money this
year.
Actually I think we are even able to double last year amount! It would
be great if we reached 10.000 €.
3) I got in touch with a person working for Youngo (indicated to me by
Lucy) to talk about legal issues. I'm currently waiting for a further
answer regarding the ways by which we can raise funds. My will is to
have a standard contract for sponsor both as insurance for them and as
rule for us, so that we can offer the same benefits and selection
criteria for all partners we will approach. It will make everything
more professional and will insure us to be acting legally.
I'll keep you update.
Regards,
Federico.

Hi Federico et tal,
I hope you don't mind if I try to answer your questions regarding the POWG, although I might not be best suited to answer.
Currently I do not see an overlap between the work the POWG and the FWG are doing. The 'partnerships' that we have made so far (to my knowledge) are ones that support our outreach work. We have made contact with people like  WESSA Eco-Schools  and members of local municipalities. At present, anything we are doing with our contacts will not be interfering with anything the fundraising group are doing. However I do see your point, and it would be great to see how our current networks are willing to help in the fundraising department. Maybe we could see if those members of local municipalities have access to some funds.
However, apart from that we haven't currently made any contact with people who you might be interested in eg. Companies.
However I do encourage the two working groups to work closely together and maybe have a liaison.
I would also like to invite you to join our Skype Call this Thursday 23:00 GMT, this may give you an opportunity to ask more questions/ get more answers.
