There are a number of different programs that allow you to search, find
and download what you want to download using the bit-torrent technology.
A BitTorrent client is any program that implements the BitTorrent
protocol. Each client is capable of preparing, requesting, and
transmitting any type of computer file over a network, using the
protocol. A peer is any computer running an instance of a client.
Software: Bit torrent (was the original client/software), ABC, Azureus,
BitComet, BitTornado, KTorrent, Mainline, rTorrent, and uTorrent

BitTorrent is a method of distributing large amounts of data widely
without the original distributor incurring the entire costs of hardware,
hosting and bandwidth resources. Instead, when data is distributed using
the BitTorrent protocol, recipients each supply data to newer recipients,
reducing the cost and burden on any given individual source, providing
redundancy against system problems, and reducing dependence upon the
original distributor.
There are a number of different methods for distributing data on-line.
BitTorrent client is one method using Peer-to-Peer.
Web browser is another method using the WWW.
Newsreader is another method using the Usenet.
E-mail is another method using Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
Most people think the internet is the WWW, but there are a number of
different on-line systems, four methods are listed above...
BitTorrent was a client to facilitate a method of sharing the costs of
getting information, instead of creating a download link, and letting
everyone download from your link. The average computer users can not
provide that download capability nor afford to pay the cost of the
download bandwidth.
The greatest gift BitTorrent brings to on-line users was the ability to
get information, that is never distributed: TV programs you missed
viewing, or not available in your market..
Cable Companies are the only ones shaping internet traffic, why? The
Cable industry is trying to protect their regulated monopolistic business
plan. The only reason we can purchase an entire year of a TV program is
the result of BitTorrents effective distribution of TV programing.
The Government must deregulate the Cable industry, The Cable Companies
must be separated from content delivery. For example in Vegas, Cox must
decide to be the Cable Company (The cable line company) or Cox the phone
company, or Cox the TV company, or Cox the internet company.
The moment the Cable industry is deregulated, you will have companies
knocking on your door with free mobile phones, free dinner coupons, to
sign-up with their service. When that happens Internet censorship will
end, artificial cable TV service bundling will end, all current service
will improve, and the cost of these services will be reduced with
competition.
BitTorrent is a large threat to the Cable industries TV delivery
monopoly, that is why it is a big deal...
