I've had this idea in my head for the last two years and am SO HAPPY
to find this group. It's like my soul has found a home on-line now.
I have been a freelance IT and web project manager for 9 years and I
want to create a collaborative working office space/environment in
Burlington, VT. It started out to be a place for just freelancers,
and then I realized the potential for all types of mobile, nomadic
workers. I also get so much of my creative ideas from working with
others and miss that working out of my home office, so this idea is
driven from a purely selfish need as well. I am in the business plan
and cash flow stage, also scoping out locations.
Can I say again how happy I am that I found this site and that there
are so many other like minds out there!

Jen,
congratulations! it IS fun to find a community out here. I'm working
on getting something in Chicago, but there are 2 women here already
who have a special niche for writers: http://www.uptownwritersspace.com/
I like the specialized community concept.

Just to give you an idea of how you may create your own community
around your own IT and web project management focus.

Happy co-working to you!

hi jen,

it is a good feeling to know there is a community at the ready when
you are developing an idea, isn't it?

it's great to hear that you are trying to open something in
burlington. i know of a few people there and in essex junction that
are open to the idea of coworking. i look forward to hearing about
your developments and i'll be sure to let my friends know that
something may be in the works.

Hi, Yes, spread the word to your VT friends, or get them into this
google group.
I would love to hear their ideas, specifically on
location, amenities that they would / are looking for, i.e. part-time
space or full-time space,
etc. I have some ideas of my own, but am very into collaboration as
I pull this together.
Thanks for any connections you can make.
Jen
