My name is Bernie. I'm very interested in the concept of coworking. We
are building a coworking space right here in Singapore in the coming

Congrats Bernie!

We are about 1 month now open with our Shenzhen, China coworking
office space - http://szteam.com and its a slow and steady progress.

We are hosting our first startup tuesday tomorrow, that is the value
we hope to get more activity and members, its the networking and
community.

Hi Kyo,

Thanks for reaching out! :) I'm sure I'll have lots of questions! We are currently looking at an empty space of about 8000 sq ft. My first step involves two parts:

1) Trying to figure out how we can segment the space

2) Targeting the right group of people

May I know what considerations you had when you build your coworking space? Is it located in a central part of Tokyo? How popular is it in Japan?

8000 sq ft! You are making huge space!
PAX Coworking is only 89 sq meter.

I think you try not to segment your space.
The less partition, the better. I think it's better to put huge
coworking lounge in the center of your space, and a few
conference rooms around.

When Tony (NWC) came to Tokyo last week, we agreed
that  'if a person just do his job and do not talk to anybody,
it's a failure as a Coworking space." Coworking space
is community rather than space/place, and comfortability.

Why don't you have Jelly before you open your space.
The targets need to experience what coworking is and
they will know if it's fit or not for them.

Jelly is saikoo (the best) way to make people understand
about coworking.
