Hi Sailors,

If you have already reserved tickets for the Winter Dinner, I apologize for sending you yet another E-mail. Just ignore it.

If you haven’t reserved tickets and you want to come, time is running out because Receptions need a final head count by Jan 11th.  So please RSVP ASAP.

The details for the event are given below.

Please note: I have sent an E-mail acknowledgement in response to all the reservations made so far. So if you haven’t heard from me, I don’t have you on the list.

Also the Family Cap on cost applies only to immediate family members living in the same household. There is no charge for children 5 and under.

Carolyn

This year, in addition to seeing great friends, telling tall stories, and

season awards presentations, we are featuring a special presentation by an outstanding sailor and inspiring speaker: Dawn Riley.

As CEO and Captain of America True, Dawn was the first woman to manage an America's Cup sailing team. She is also the first American, man or woman to have raced on three America's Cup teams and two Whitbread Round-the-World Race (now Volvo Ocean Race) sailing teams. After which, she was the general manager of the French Team, Areva Challenge, her fourth America’s Cup challenge. She is former President of the Woman’s Sports Foundation, founded by Billie Jean King and is active in many public service and political activities.  Dawn serves as a board member: of the NGB – US Sailing.

Her newest challenge is creating and establishing Oakcliff Sailing, a completely unique training center that is Building American Leaders Through Sailing.  The Acorn and Sapling programs at Oakcliff are intensive on and off the water program whose graduates receive training in all aspects of running a racing campaign from technical to finance to marketing and strategy. Dawn believes that this center will prove to be significant in creating leaders inside and outside of the marine industry.
